Hey, how's it goin'? If you're listening to this, I'm either in the kitchen stuffing my face or off doing something awesome. And by "awesome" I mean "stupid and dangerous". But it's still awesome. Anyway, you should know how this works. Drop me a line and I'll get back to you as soon as I'm done.
Oh and uh... if the name "Haven" means anything to any of you guys, let me know in the message, okay? Please. [BEEP]

Greetings, Wade.
Did you know that skeletons really like stargazing? In fact, some skeletons go up to the gardens every night. It's like clockwork.
I wonder if they ever get bonely.

After checking next to him to make sure Tibia's still asleep (and she is, after a fashion-- one baleful eye opens to stare at him before closing again) he fires off a text of his own:]

Which was just as well; there was something particular Rin wanted to do with this visit, and she'd needed time to prepare it. It has to go in someone's body, after all; you can't be lazy with these things. She'd stayed up late finishing it, ever the night owl, so it's only in the late morning that she rises to begin the task of tracking Wade down. Hopefully he'll be easier to find than Sans and Chara were.]

Lessons in just how far people are willing to go, to ensure they never get to rest. They'd let that internal questioning fall to the wayside, but right now? It's back with a vengeance.
What about their world was so amazing that Ozuma had drawn so many from it?
And how many more would he pull here before he was satisfied?
A few more, it seemed. Just a few more.
They aren't there to greet the newcomers in the Altar room, today. Coincidentally, a revelation had clicked when they browsed their phone; checked the newest names added to network's registration list.
They aren't going to be showing up anywhere, today. Someone might have seen them in the kitchen at some point, but- well. They were in a hurry.
And there's only one last thing they need to do-]
need a favor. a boyarrived today who requires prortection. Asriel. find himand take him to toriel.
[Before they pitch their phone off the side of the bridge, and use the nearest couch to get as far on the edge of the Safe Zone as possible.
Funnily enough, it doesn't seem like any replies can actually be received by one Chara Dreemurr at this time.]

soulbonding: interesting inbox you got here, wado
Tired. As if that's anything new.
And they wonder, how much of a charm it will be? How much will this person, be it of their own free will or otherwise, use them to keep themself aloat? How will they pick at their insides like the junk that it is, only using what's worth being used? Like Tim did.
Like Sans. Explicitly refused to.
They don't
Ha ha.
They don't now if they can do this, for another week. They can't do this. And their feet lead them of their own accord, down through the corridors and through various stone archways, wrists itching up a storm and mind set on being out of sight and out of mind.
The mornings are still crisp, the chill of a light breeze going right through their sweater and sending goosebumps across their flesh-- but not nearly as much as the sight that greets them when they walk onto the bridge.]
cw: suicidal ideation
He's not waiting for them, specifically-- in fact, they've actually walked in on a very important internal deliberation, though it might not seem that way from where they're standing.
It had started earlier this morning, with Wade awakening from a sleep so heavy he hadn't wanted to leave it. It had been peaceful and blissfully free of dreams, his mind floating in an intangible nothingness, and for some reason he felt an acute sense of loss when it was over. A sense of... misdirection, though he couldn't put his finger on why. There was a strange sort of dullness to the world, almost as if he was trapped inside one of those old TVs with the colors slightly muted. He felt
out of sync.
Out of
I must be hungry, he remembers thinking. I'll just go to the kitchen and get something to eat. And then a second later, a minute; an hour-- he doesn't even remember leaving his room-- Wade found himself standing on the bridge, looking down at the bottomless abyss below. There had been no surprise in this discovery. Even now he feels an almost liberating sense of satisfaction, as if he'd finally found something he'd been searching for all of his life. Perhaps he had.
It would be so easy.
He'd come back from it, of course-- even a long fall like this would fail to stop him for long, but just the idea that he could do it, that he could do it right now and nobody would be any the wiser, causes a strange and distant smile to spread across his face. Besides... maybe Ozuma would figure he wasn't worth the trouble to bring back.
No one would miss me. Everyone who's ever cared about me is dead. Maybe this way I'll be able to see them again.
He's so lost in his own thoughts that he doesn't realize he has an audience.]

Evening of the ̛͈͖1̰̞̱̣͔̜͡6̮̗̳̟̣͔́t̷͉h̩̗͙͘
Inside the package is one comfortable, red jumper, knitted to Wade’s size (and perhaps just a little baggy, just a little more room for him to fill out with time). Accompanying it is something slightly...smaller. Not his size, and clearly not meant for him, as a pointed little scrap of paper with the word TIBIA scrawled across it seems to note.
There’s no indication of who sent it, but they imagine he’ll put it together fairly quickly. Wade will know.
And then he won’t.]
no subject
The sweater is beautiful, made out of impossibly soft, stretchy material-- stretchy, no doubt, to accommodate the amount of weight and muscle that Wade still needs to put on even now. There's a tiny knitted scarf for Tibia, too, made in the same sort of soft material, and she clasps it tightly to her body for a good few seconds before draping it around her neck. She signs, happily, that it's like getting a big hug, to which Wade nods and smiles and glances down at his sweater again, thankful that the mask he wears hides the tears building up in his eyes. Whether Chara knew it or not, they had very quickly eased the aching wounds in this tired old mercenary's heart, and every gesture, every interaction with them served to further prove how much better; how much more enriched Wade's life was just by virtue of them being a part of it.
Some time later, Wade exits his room to head over to the treehouse he knows Chara and Frisk frequent on occasion. The text he had sent them a while ago had gone unanswered, which had caused some warning bells to flare up in his head, but it was probably his own neurotic sense of overprotection coming to the forefront again. It seemed to happen a lot as far as Chara was concerned. As he nears the garden, he can't quite suppress the wide smile crossing his face as he imagines the look the young child would give him, when they saw him approaching them while wearing their amazing Christmas present to him--
The smile fades from his face in an instant, and the happy, joyous light that had suffused his face throughout his trip suddenly vanishes from his expression entirely. His steps slow; stop as he reaches the threshold to the garden, and for a moment he stands there, brow furrowed in utter confusion, staring outside as if waiting around long enough could unveil some unknown mystery he's suddenly come across. What had he come to the garden to do? There must have been some reason.
After a few seconds, he merely shrugs to himself and meanders away from the garden and the empty treehouse that lay within, fingering the soft fabric of his sweater in a distracted manner as he makes his way to the kitchen.
Whatever it was, it probably wasn't important, anyway.]
Dec. 29 / Action
She's been distracted.
Whatever the hours, it's late enough she should be in bed. Rin promised to be out by the bridge by first light tomorrow, and even with longer nights of winter, that grants her precious little time to sleep. Dully, she closes the door to Sakura's room, chastising herself to head straight to bed the moment she drops the items she came for off.
Instead she finds her eyes drawn to the neighboring door, the thoughts that had plagued her earlier running through her head like a damaged film reel until she's standing in front of the giant number eight.
With no consideration for how late, Rin reaches out and raps her knuckles loudly against the wood paneling.]
no subject
It's too much to take in all at once. Feels like there are gaps in his memory, on top of that-- which isn't exactly out of the ordinary for someone with ADHD, but it's still troubling all the same. So when there's a knock on his door in the late hours of the night, Wade is wide awake and grateful for the distraction from his distractions. Tibia's offered whatever comfort she can, but now that she's asleep and he's alone with his thoughts, he appreciative of a little company. He's pretty sure he knows who it is, at any case.]
Man, somebody's burnin' the candle at both ends. Finally managed to haul your lazy butt outta b-- oh.
[Wade realizes his mistake as soon as he opens the door and sees who's standing on the opposite side-- not the short, sleepy-eyed skeleton he was expecting, but the prim, sharp-eyed girl he'd once shared a mind with.]

March 6
On the front of the notecard is a (poorly) hand-drawn picture, featuring what looks to be a stick figure Santa Claus and a sleigh of presents.
For some reason, the sleigh is drawn by dogs instead of reindeer.
Stopped at a fork in the road before a sign pointing in many directions, Stick Figure Claus scratches his head and staring at the sign with question marks surrounding his head. Did I make a wrong turn somewhere? his word bubble says, in neat and legible handwriting.
Beneath the drawing, a message is printed in bold letters.
MERRY (BELATED) CHRISTMAS]
[Inside the box, Wade will find a bracelet woven from red ribbon, ending with a silver clasp, along with a jar of pokepuffs. Under the jar, there's a note.]
Wade,
This gift may look simple, but I've imbued it with special qualities. Did you know the ribbons in my hair are magical items? Charms are among the first things young girls aspiring to be mages learn as children, particularly with ribbon. I thought about making matching ones for you, but thought it might throw off the ensemble.
Instead, accept this bracelet if it pleases you. I've charmed it to increase the wearer's chances of good dreams when they sleep.
Please also find enclosed some treats for Tibia. They're sweet, so you probably shouldn't let her eat too many at a time, but I hope she likes them.
