[ The responsible, sensible thing would be to advise him to keep the memory of who he's lost alive by keeping his word. But, uh, Sans isn't what anyone could really accuse of being responsible, and playing keep-away with one's problems is a thing he can really get behind. ]

[The first mistake would be assuming that Wade had a responsible or sensible bone in his body. He'd made the promise to Abel (and later, to Jesse) that he'd never touch the stuff again; would never allow himself to go so low as to resort to substances to dull his senses. But there had been an unspoken promise from them as well, hadn't there? That they'd always be around to ensure that Wade never got that low in the first place.

And, well-- they'd lied, hadn't they? And if Wade really had been transported to a new world like he'd been told several times, it stood to reason that the conditions he'd put upon himself to obey would be reset, wouldn't they?

At least, that's what he'll tell himself later after drinking himself into a coma to get over the guilt of drinking himself into a coma.]

i can definitely describe it in vivid detail, no doubt about that

that happy juice carried me through some particularly bad spots

i'll give you a tip-- drink until nothing hurts anymore

then keep on drinking :)

Did you know that skeletons really like stargazing? In fact, some skeletons go up to the gardens every night. It's like clockwork.

I wonder if they ever get bonely.

[Oh, don't worry, Chara. Wade's up too. Night terrors work better than any alarm clock, honestly, though at least he's learned to choke back his screaming nowadays. Chara's text, therefore, comes as a welcome relief from the panic still buzzing in his brain, and the sudden unexpected pun makes him laugh; eases the tightness in his chest.

After checking next to him to make sure Tibia's still asleep (and she is, after a fashion-- one baleful eye opens to stare at him before closing again) he fires off a text of his own:]

the last experience i had with astrology was when some guy tried to convince me he was the dog star

not sure if he was actually sirius or just messing around

[Wade, thankfully, does not know Chara well enough to read too much into their texts just yet. He knows that Chara is trying to get Wade to keep Sans company, in their subtle way, but he's not knowledgeable enough of Chara or their history with Sans to really break down their purpose for doing so.]

As much as I'm loathe to miss out on exorcising the crust of the earth, I'm currently bedridden.

[How the hell did he miss this? He probably assumed that because he couldn't be poisoned, it wasn't worth listening to. That old familiar feeling of guilt washes over him, hot and uncomfortable.

He doesn't answer the text. Truth be told, he's already on his way to the kitchen, reading their message again with another flush of shame

[It's only thanks to Sans that Rin found out Wade was involved with whatever went down in the chandelier hall, and while that put him on her List of people to talk to, Chara ranked higher. That visit had wrapped up with Chara taking the time to explain how to use the network, and then Rin had announcements to make and team arrangements to nail down. Checking on Wade got pushed back to the following day.

Which was just as well; there was something particular Rin wanted to do with this visit, and she'd needed time to prepare it. It has to go in someone's body, after all; you can't be lazy with these things. She'd stayed up late finishing it, ever the night owl, so it's only in the late morning that she rises to begin the task of tracking Wade down. Hopefully he'll be easier to find than Sans and Chara were.]
