The first is surprise-- Newt was definitely saucy for a nerd, but he'd never expected him to just completely go off on him like that. The next is anger-- it doesn't take a mercenary or a ranger to just pay attention once in a while-- but when Newt mentions Travis, of all people... well.

That's been the root of the problem this whole time, hasn't it? Where the anger and the frustration is coming from. The feeling of complete and utter uselessness on both their parts; seeing their friends injured or dead or disappearing one by one and being powerless to stop it from happening. Wade isn't the only one who's lost people, after all. He's not even the only one who's lost people several times.

Wade lets out a deep breath and releases it, slowly, letting out whatever remaining ire he has left in him. One of his hands is still gripping Newt's shoulder. He relaxes it, offering a few awkward pats and an understanding and apologetic nod of his head.]
