I dunno if Wade would know Death Note at all, but I'm pretty open to fourth wall shenanigans, except in the case of if he'd know Mello's real name ... which would be A Problem. (Not necessarily a Don't, just something that would need to be discussed first.) As for Nick ... she doesn't really have a canon, being an OC, but he would be welcome to comment on how she looks like her PB (Fairuza Balk)/confuse her with those characters (i.e., Nancy from The Craft, etc.) if you'd like!
